THE VINE MAT
Cut and mulch
Forestry mulching takes the vine mat, the smothered brush and small trees down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
CHIMNEY ROCK, RUTHERFORD COUNTY
A Chimney Rock property usually sits somewhere on the wall of Hickory Nut Gorge, above or below US-64/74A, with kudzu running down from the road cut toward the river. We mulch what a person can't safely reach on foot, treat the crowns, and come back, twelve miles from our Rutherfordton shop.

What's includedKUDZU IN CHIMNEY ROCK
Chimney Rock is a small village stacked into one of the steepest stretches of Hickory Nut Gorge, minutes from Chimney Rock State Park, and almost every property here has some grade to it. Kudzu that gets started on a road cut or an old field edge above the village runs downhill fast, climbing whatever hardwood canopy is in its way, and by the time it's noticed from the road it usually already covers ground nobody can safely walk to check on.
Chimney Rock State Park itself overlooks the same gorge these properties sit in, and the terrain that makes the park's scenery dramatic is the same terrain that makes a private kudzu job here different from a flat-ground one in Forest City or Ellenboro. This is core territory for our remote-controlled mulcher, which works grades a conventional tracked machine and a two-person hand crew both have to avoid, so the vine comes off the slope and gets mulched in place instead of hauled down to the road.
A Chimney Rock quote, twelve miles from our Rutherfordton shop, prices the slope work as its own line rather than folding it into a flat per-acre number, since production genuinely slows on a grade like this. It is still a fixed written first-visit price before anything is scheduled, with crown treatment included on every kudzu job, gorge wall or not. A return visit in the growing season is recommended and quoted separately as a maintenance plan.

THE VINE MAT
Forestry mulching takes the vine mat, the smothered brush and small trees down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
THE ROOTS
Kudzu regrows from crowns at the base of each vine. We treat them so the regrowth is a handful of shoots, not a new field.
THE MAINTENANCE PLAN
We recommend coming back in the growing season to catch what resprouts. That return visit is quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see the price before anything is scheduled.

THE FROM $1,500 PRICE
Land clearing from $1,500. Sounds crazy? It's not. It depends on acreage and location.
The $1,500 starting price covers the first visit: cutting and mulching the growth and treating the root crowns on a small, accessible area. Bigger ground, steeper ground, tight access and thick old-growth vine mats move the number up, and you see that number in writing before we schedule anything.
Our promise: a fixed written price before we start. No day rates. Nonstandard access or extra follow-up work is quoted before anything is scheduled.
Kudzu regrows from root crowns left in the ground. Mulching alone is not removal, which is why we recommend a return visit. Return visits for regrowth are quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see that price in writing before anything is scheduled.
HOW IT WORKS
Call, text or send the form with the property location and roughly how far the kudzu has spread. Photos help.
We look at access, slope and how thick the mat is, then send a fixed written price. No day rates.
Top growth is mulched in place and crowns are treated on the first visit. We recommend coming back in the growing season to catch resprouts, quoted separately as a maintenance plan.
CLOSE TO HOME
Based in Rutherfordton. Working Rutherford, Polk, Cleveland, McDowell and Henderson counties and the Spartanburg side of the state line.
Not listed? Call anyway. If it is within about an hour of Rutherfordton we probably cover it.
Often, yes. The remote-controlled mulcher is built for grades a standard machine can't safely work, which covers most of what we see around the gorge. A handful of lots are steep or boxed in enough that even that machine can't reach every corner, and if that's the case for your property we'll tell you plainly during the walk-through instead of quoting something we can't deliver.
The village location itself doesn't add cost, but the slope usually does, since gorge-wall ground almost always needs the remote-controlled mulcher and slower, more careful work than flat ground. We price the actual grade and access on your lot, not a flat surcharge for being in Chimney Rock, and it's all shown as its own line in the written quote.
