Brush Masters is a forestry mulching and land clearing company based in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. Since 2020 the crew has cleared more than 2,500 acres across more than 400 projects: residential back lots, pasture and fence lines, steep lakefront ground at Lake Lure, storm cleanup in the Hickory Nut Gorge, and invasive growth like kudzu, privet and honeysuckle that has been left alone too long.
The equipment matters for kudzu. Tracked forestry mulchers turn a vine mat and the smothered brush under it into a mulch layer in one pass, with nothing hauled and nothing burned. For the steep ground where kudzu does its worst, Brush Masters runs a remote-controlled mulcher rated for slopes up to 55 degrees, so a hillside that a conventional machine cannot safely work still gets cleared.
Pricing is fixed per project and written down before work starts. No day rates. The $1,500 starting price covers the first visit: cutting and mulching the growth and treating the root crowns on a small, accessible area, and it moves with acreage, slope, access and how thick the growth is. Return visits for regrowth are quoted separately as a maintenance plan; we recommend one for kudzu, and you see that price in writing before anything is scheduled.
Brush Masters works Rutherford County first, then Polk, Cleveland, McDowell and Henderson counties and across the line into Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Being based in Rutherfordton keeps travel short for most of that area, which keeps small jobs affordable.
