THE VINE MAT
Cut and mulch
Forestry mulching takes the vine mat, the smothered brush and small trees down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
BOSTIC, RUTHERFORD COUNTY
Bostic kudzu almost always starts at a pasture edge: a fence row a tractor can't get close to, a wood line bordering a hayfield, a gully cutting through grazing land. We mulch the fence line back, treat the crowns, and come back, seven miles from our Rutherfordton shop.

What's includedKUDZU IN BOSTIC
Bostic is farm country, and most of the kudzu we clear here is growing where pasture meets woods: a fence row that hasn't been brush-hogged in years, a wet gully cutting across a hayfield, a wood line along the edge of grazing land where a mower can't reach. Cattle generally leave kudzu alone once it's established, which means a patch along a fence can run for a full season before anyone notices it's eating five or six feet of usable pasture a year.
Rutherford County EMS keeps one of its four ambulance stations in Bostic, alongside Spindale, Lake Lure and Caroleen, which says something about how spread out this part of the county actually is; a lot of our Bostic calls come from properties well off the main road, on land that has been in the same family for generations. A pasture-edge mat is usually a long, narrow job rather than a wide one, which changes how the mulcher moves but not what it takes to actually finish it.
A Bostic fence-line job, seven miles from our Rutherfordton shop, prices mainly on length and how thick the mat has gotten, not on acreage the way an open field would. Every quote is still fixed and written before we start, and every kudzu job, fence row or otherwise, includes crown treatment on the first visit, no day rates either way. A return visit in the growing season is recommended and quoted separately as a maintenance plan.

THE VINE MAT
Forestry mulching takes the vine mat, the smothered brush and small trees down to a mulch layer in one pass. Nothing is hauled, nothing is burned.
THE ROOTS
Kudzu regrows from crowns at the base of each vine. We treat them so the regrowth is a handful of shoots, not a new field.
THE MAINTENANCE PLAN
We recommend coming back in the growing season to catch what resprouts. That return visit is quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see the price before anything is scheduled.

THE FROM $1,500 PRICE
Land clearing from $1,500. Sounds crazy? It's not. It depends on acreage and location.
The $1,500 starting price covers the first visit: cutting and mulching the growth and treating the root crowns on a small, accessible area. Bigger ground, steeper ground, tight access and thick old-growth vine mats move the number up, and you see that number in writing before we schedule anything.
Our promise: a fixed written price before we start. No day rates. Nonstandard access or extra follow-up work is quoted before anything is scheduled.
Kudzu regrows from root crowns left in the ground. Mulching alone is not removal, which is why we recommend a return visit. Return visits for regrowth are quoted separately as a maintenance plan, and you see that price in writing before anything is scheduled.
HOW IT WORKS
Call, text or send the form with the property location and roughly how far the kudzu has spread. Photos help.
We look at access, slope and how thick the mat is, then send a fixed written price. No day rates.
Top growth is mulched in place and crowns are treated on the first visit. We recommend coming back in the growing season to catch resprouts, quoted separately as a maintenance plan.

It can if the vine has been growing through the wire for years, since pulling a heavy, established mat off wire fencing sometimes takes sections of it along. We look at the fence before we start and tell you honestly what we expect to come loose, so it's part of the conversation up front instead of a surprise afterward.
Yes, a fence-line job usually prices on the length of the row and how thick the mat is rather than total acreage, since a quarter-mile of fence can be a bigger job than a wide but thin backyard patch. We walk the actual fence line with you and write the number based on what's really there.
